On Friday 18 October in Covent Garden, Nina and I will be running an introductory Japanese bondage class at Coco de Mer’s luxurious emporium of exotic lingerie and other erotic delights.
Here’s what it says on their site:
Esinem is one of the top practitioners in the art of Shibari – Japanese Rope Bondage. Japanese bondage differs from its Western counterpart in being about the journey rather than the destination. Western bondage tends to be a preliminary to the ‘main act’, whereas the real secret of Shibari is how you do it and the effect that creates.
Using the techniques of Japan’s most accomplished masters, you will learn how even a single rope can be powerful tool of communication, an extension of your hands and will. Although it looks complex and you might be forgiven for thinking that you need to know more knots than a boy scout, nothing could be further from the truth.
Esinem teaches the basic steps, which are simple and involve few knots, yet are fantastically versatile. With a few tips on aesthetics, you’ll be creating beautiful bondage that is only limited by your imagination.
