Our apologies if you have experienced any difficulty accessing this site or BOUND or Nina’s site over the past week or so. All the sites got hacked but thanks to assistance and endless patience of WordPress savvy EmmaSan Piks, also a great photographer and rigger, we managed to finally sort it out. The sites are now clean and safe.
There has been a spate of attacks exploiting a vulnerability in the WP GDPR plugin, which handles the new EU legislation on opting in and out of email lists. The result was a nightmare causing the site to re-direct and admins to be locked out. This required hours of work including removing over 3,700 malicious scripts from one database.
Whether the problems with this site were due to this plugin are uncertain as the issues were quite different. It could have been a cross-infection, a backdoor remaining to allow a new attack or specific targeting by a malicious individual. I guess I’ll never know. Let it suffice to say that all sites have been locked down much more tightly and constant anti-virus scanning is in place.
