After endless procrastination, my on-line store, ESINEM-Rope, is getting a make-over. Let’s face it, even with it divided up by rope type, there were still far too many options on a page. There are numerous types of jute and hemp in different diameters and lengths, not to mention treatment options so finding what you needed was a bit of a challenge. The first stage has been to reduce the number of items in each rope type to listings for each diameter and length. This means that, for example, if you choose Tossa, instead of a couple of dozen listings, you’d see the five items below, grouped by diameter and length. Once you have selected the right listing, you can then choose untreated or treated, the set size and how many sets. Easy!
The general search is now much more user-friendly as the list it provides is much more concise due to the new listings with variations. For example, a search for ‘6mm jute’ brings up the list below the search box and then the larger list and options below:
If you need to be more precise, there’s a more detailed search screen that really allows you to be selective by searching every which way. Need to fit a budget? Search by price range. slots online real money australia. Only want treated? With keywords it’s no problem:
As a recent Fetlife thread made me aware, there are too many gaps in the range, especially when it comes to offering longer ropes. So, the next on the list is adding more length and treatment options. I have already added a lot more 10m options already. I’ll be adding more over the next few days.
Once that is complete, I plan to introduce better photos and a standardised measuring system so you can see exactly what you are getting. The best solution I have come across is to take an average of 10 wraps of rope around a cylinder with a vernier caliper. However, as people frequently misjudge sizes, I think it would be helpful to include a standard object like a pencil or major brand cigarette like Marlboro Red.
Whilst my primary mission will be to simply carry on supplying great rope at sensible prices, it’s time to set out my stall in a more professional manner 🙂 I hope the small changes already completed have made a big difference and make finding your way around a whole lot easier. Keep checking back for progress and for some not-to-be-missed offers coming soon to ring in the changes.
